Alec B Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge continues the journey of the Cromwell family, expanding on the bewitching universe introduced in its predecessor. Directed by Mary Lambert, the film blends whimsy, adventure, and a touch of spookiness, maintaining the Halloween spirit that fans adore. Kimberly J. Brown reprises her role as Marnie, now a more confident witch, alongside the charismatic Debbie Reynolds as the lovable Grandma Aggie. Halloweentown II proves to be a worthy continuation of the franchise, with the young cast growing up with each new installment. Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/16/23 Full Review Kevin M Old movie but very cosy and festival feeling. The ending feels a bit rushed but overall is good Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/13/23 Full Review jonathan d Just like its predecessor, this movie is made for individuals that loved the Disney era films. It's not good but, it's like chicken soup for the soul. Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Mary Lambert once directed music videos — Janet Jackson's "Control" and five videos for Madonna including "Borderline," "Like a Virgin," "Material Girl," "La Isla Bonita" and "Like a Prayer" — before making Pet Sematary. And yes, she went on to make a Disney Channel movie, as well as Mega Python vs. Gatoroid. It's been two years since we last saw Marnie (Kimberly J. Brown), who has spent the time learning magic from her grandmother Aggie (Debbie Reynolds) in Halloweentown. While hosting a mortal neighborhood Halloween party in our universe, Marnie tries to impress new neighbor Kal (Daniel Kountz) by showing off Aggie's magically-hidden room. Before you can say plot device, Aggie notices something wrong with the portal between our worlds, sending her back to Halloweentown. It turns out that Kal is really the son of Kalabar — didn't see that coming with that name, huh? — and he's cast a Gray Spell over the entire realm, making the magically colorful world of Halloweentown boring. Meanwhile, he's turning Earth into a monster-filled nightmare. To save the day, the barriers between Halloweentown and our world must be destroyed. But at what cost? Oh, if there were only a third film. There is? And I'm going to write about it this week? Man, this magic has me flummoxed. As for horror fans, Judith Hoag wears the Silver Shamrock witch mask from Halloween III: Season of the Witch. Here's hoping she takes it off before the commercial plays. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie has a complex story filled with in depth dialogue and incredible character development not to mention it's take on good and evil and how it's not just black and white. This sequel not only lives up to the original but transcends it resulting in a captivating ending leaving you to wonder what's next Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/14/21 Full Review Read all reviews
