Before You AttendI know it's not easy visiting a new church for the first time. It's sort of like the first day of school or a first date. It's a little awkward. There may be many questions going through your mind. Let me try to answer a few of those questions.
First things first, come as you are! We don't have any hang ups about what you wear. I wear jeans every Sunday. We don't care what you wear as long as you're here! As you walk through the front door you will meet friendly people who will welcome you to DRC. Just inside you will find our Welcome Center where any questions you have can be answered. You can also find directions to our nursery and children's church if you need it.
If you have children and are comfortable with it, they can attend our exciting children's ministries. We have a fully staffed, clean nursery for newborns through preschool. Our children's church is for kids from K-5th grade. There they can learn about the Bible in an age appropriate manner in a safe, fun environment. It's important for kids to enjoy church!
As you enter the auditorium, there will be someone who will offer you a brochure that tells about what the church is up to. They can also help you find a comfortable seat. Sometime during the service you will probably be asked to fill out a "Connection Card." This is so we can get to know you better. You won't be bombarded with junk mail, but you'll probably get a letter or email. However, we promise not to hound you.
Our music is upbeat and fresh. We begin our service with worship through song, then we'll share some announcements, and an offering. Then, I come and share a message from the Bible. Our messages are practical, creative, biblically sound, and not too long. After that we typically close with another song and a time of prayer.
I hope to be able to meet you in the foyer after the service. I'll have a $5 Starbucks card to give you as a thank you for being our guest for the first time.
You are always welcome at Dakota Ridge Church!
Thanks for checking us out,
